Before we began our trip to Germany, we made a "small" round in the northeastern United States.
It went from New York through Vermont to Canada and particularly to Quebec and then over Maine (northern state of America) to Boston, and about Cape Cod, Nantucket, including a trip to Iceland, back to New York.
We had great weather again and we were New England, as this area is called, to enjoy fully. Here it is very different than in Alabama. Everything just looks European and thus historical.
Including the city of Quebec. Founded in 1608 by the French, it still has a well-preserved city wall and the right Maerchenschloss (found at least the children), but that is now a hotel. Quebec City is one of the oldest European settlements in North America and it shows and you may also feel. We liked the city very well.
As the breakfast room of the hotel was very small, we were unceremoniously on our own terrace.
This is the gateway to downtown Quebec City (could really be like in Europe).
On the walls you can even run a piece and also watch the old town.
Everything is manageable and not so huge, just very cute.
This is it, then, the Maerchenschloss. Emi was thrilled and also took the photo.
There was a great Fussgaengerpromenade from castle to castle.
The fortress could be visited only with a guide, since that is still used millitaerich. Fascinating for children was the guard, their separation, we also witnessed.

Since everything was still viewed very small and fast, we went into a nature park with great waterfalls.
Bloss good that these animals were not real!
It was really great to see how the water masses of the narrow gorge hinunterstuerzten (in spring it is most impressive).
At the sight of this bridge at a dizzy height our Millie was the same all over the jitters.
And then we went to the St. Lawrence River, Quebec makes the seaside town. Holger could not resist and just had to go swimming (in the back with black trunks). The water was very cold! There were also surfers and so he was thrilled.
