Scrotum Itchy Bumps 2010

We left Salt Lake City and drove south direction. This time we did not change the state. Our next destinations were called Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Actually, Holger had therefore booked a campsite in the middle between the two parks. It turned out that the place very close to the one it was very far away from the other. Can happen!
on this stage was relatively soon end to major interstates and the trail leads over small highway through the middle of the Prairies.

As we now in a of the few places at McDonalds did break, we discovered a flat tire on the trailer. The tire was already setting off in Tuscaloosa no longer the best and it was always only a matter of time until something had to happen. Holger then pulled up the spare tire and we could go on.

Here we are approaching the Red Canyon. Quite clear why the words so!

Almost all who come by here think, at this point and take a photo (including us).

saw in the evening sun, this beautiful red rock formations of special!

The campsite was in the middle of this rugged canyon scenery. However, there were violent thunderstorms every afternoon, but this probably is not unusual for the months of July and August (as in the guide).

The first day we wanted to go to more distant Zion National Park (60 miles). After we move also brought a new spare tire, it was noon when we finally got there.

We decided to make first a short hike. Namely, it started to have to grumble.

We were right equipped tradition!

And the road turned out to be really nice hiking and climbing route.

The trail ended at a lookout point from where one could look wonderful in Zion Canyon. This has really paid off!

course do after such a "long" one must first walk break.

Toll Holger!

Then we have still made the trip by shuttle bus. The rain had now again aufgehoert and we got off at different stations and ran up a notch.
has photographed here by the way Emi.

The rock walls rose steeply quite beautiful and let us look very small.

The river where a strange color (yellowish brown) had.

The next day it was the Bryce Canyon National Park on the program (only about 10 miles). The weather was so funny, warm and sunny but with dark clouds and rumbling on its way.

why we started at the first possible place for a short hike. It was a piece into the beautiful canyon.

On this day we had a child that was very enthusiastic about this (Melli) and one that had no desire at all to walking (Emi).

This canyon is just what is fascinating!

at this bridge I'm with Emi been reversed and Melli and Holger have gone a bit further.

us as we slowly moved forward, it was a good thing.

Here's the bridge from the other side.

have continued not two, but the view was great from there!

Da Melli probably cheating a little!

When it started to rain strong, we returned to our homes and still had a relaxing afternoon / evening . Mama washed laundry and the children were playing with two nice girls from Potsdam (The world is really small!).
