How Do I Open Buchanan's Bottle?

Salt Lake City

From now on we drove south. Our next destination was a campsite in a Canyon State Park near Salt Lake City. To Montana and Wyoming was the state of Utah that is, the next on our journey.

The landscape became more mountainous. If Salt Lake City but on the edge of the Rocky Mountains. (Olympic Winter Games 2002)

Sometimes it reminds a bit of the Alps!

But our girls are accustomed to long driving slowly.

The campsite was right next to a lake with beach access. But because the water had to be equal to test it. The mountains around it created a great backdrop.

Even otherwise we felt really good at this campsite!

He was also located really fantastic!

The following day, then a trip to Salt Lake City was on the program. Before that day it had been the Melli gegrault all the time. She must then run sooooo much! Emi and they were lucky. It was sooo hot that day that no one really felt like to run. Also recommended that the guide books to attend a Mormon village museum in the founding days of the city. There were in addition to many exciting things and shade and even a small car to drive through.

formerly served as a meeting hall.

The houses were also equipped with the appropriate interior. Although Emi in this photo looks not so pleased, the children were very enthusiastic about it.

The school then looked a little different than today. And penalties for missed homework assignments were also very nice strict. Just good that this is only simulated.

And not only inside, felt like being transported back in time.

Life was really licking but no sugar but hard work. Am I right girls?

In the background is a traditional Hogan, one out of clay, straw and wood-built lodge. These were the dwellings of the indigenous people (Indians), in summer of course cool and nice warm winter with little fire.

now but we had to look around a bit in Salt Lake City. Since it is the capital of Utah, there is also a Capitol (seat of government).

And here one again finds old historic buildings alongside modern skyscrapers.

front right is the residence of the family of the Gruendervaters the city. The Mormonenfuehrer Brigham Young had 21 women, although with their sons, lived in part elsewhere.

Central is located on Temple Square. The Mormon Temple with its snow-white towers, is the most famous buildings in Utah and recalls the origins of the Mormon city, and is the symbol of the ever-fledged religious community. The access is only allowed the Mormons.

In the afternoon we drove to be out of the Great Salt Lake. The comprehensive guide recommended a State Park at the lake with the opportunity to swim. In the heat of that sounded very good!

But as we approached the beach, hit us against a very unpleasant musty smell. He was so strong that we no longer hold out and turn . Had
A ranger explained Holger then on demand (typical Holger) that this time of year the lake is slow so hot that dead krill is rinsed from the shore, and rotted. So we had smelled!

quick nor a photo proof of an Olympic survivals and then off back to our clear, clean, refreshing lake!

the evening was once again made grilled and fire. Camping is really great, especially for children.

And then it was time. Holger's long awaited dream came true.
jet skiing!

But the children it very much.
Emi was Melli, as always, sent forward for new
"dangerous" things. Emi and had no fear, as always:)

off you go. (The rule states, one has to sit backward and keep the tube in the eye. In addition, only three were allowed to be in total on the road, although would have been enough space).

But then Millie wanted sometimes. However, Dad had solemnly promise, much slower than Emi drive (which fell heavily and did not always succeed:).

And so the time was already over and we were on to the closest destination.
